The Elemental Story

Origins

In 1999, as a young mother with a passion for organics and an increasing concern about the toxicity of many ingredients used in conventional skin care products Deborah Oberon established Elemental Skincare in Denmark, among the pristine beauty of Western Australia’s south coast.

More than ten years later, after having taken Deborah on an emotional and financial rollercoaster ride, the Elemental skincare range has matured into a comprehensive set of professional quality, certified organic, botanical products.

The progress of Elemental has reflected a track record of product excellence, marketing initiative, and entrepreneurial resilience. It was one of the first skincare ranges in Australia to be certified organic instead of just claiming to be “organic”. In 2005, Elemental won a regional Industry Export Award and Deborah was runner-up in the Western Australian Rural Women’s Award.

Enhancements

About three years ago, in 2007 as demand from customers for Elemental products continued to grow Deborah approached Sea Dragon Botanicals, a specialist manufacturer of plant extracts and skincare products based in the same area for assistance with manufacturing. This strategic partnership led to further improvement and refinement of the products and packaging.

In particular, it has enabled the Elemental range to incorporate the unique plant extracts that are the specialty of Sea Dragon Botanicals. Today, the products are both exported and used across Australia and they have delivered consistently outstanding results for professional beauty therapists in salons, spas and small businesses.

Sea Dragon was established in 1995 as a grower and contract processor of medicinal herbs and is one of few manufacturing facilities in Australia that is both Certified organic and TGA licensed. The size of the facility has tripled over the years and the scope of manufacturing includes certified organic skincare products such as soaps and creams, therapeutic products for specific skin conditions and exclusive botanical extracts and oils – many of which come from plants found only in the south-west corner of Australia.

Developments

The Elemental Skincare products are manufactured and distributed by Sea Dragon Botanicals at their herb farm and production facility on the south coast of Western Australia. Deborah is our Brisbane based Sales and Marketing Manager. In the next stage of development for Elemental the range is being delivered and supported on the East coast of Australia.
