22 March 2006: We were very saddened to read of the of sale of The Body Shop to cosmetic multinational L'Oreal. Although many of The Body Shop products are made with ingredients that are regularly linked to cancerous tumours by researchers, its stance on many issues such as animal rights and fair trade practices have been admirable.

Of particular concern in the merger is that Nestle' owns 26.4% of L'Oreal. Nestle' is one of the world's most boycotted company for it's aggressive marketing of baby formula to mother's in developing countries. The Body Shop was itself once an active participant in the campaign to educate consumers about the practices of Nestle in the developing world.

27 February 2006: We are in the process of getting our new online shop completed. If you wish to purchase from us in the meantime, please either call us direct or visit one of our stockists state wide.
